Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast

Fantastic 1891 restored mansion built for the Henri Picard family. He was a wealthy merchant with businesses in the New Orleans area in the late 1800's. Designed by noted architect, Thomas Sully, the structure is a modified Queen Anne Victorian featuring fish scale tiles and a wrap around Creole Porch. Completely renovated in 2001, the current owners live on the property and greet guests year round. Accommodations include rooms with original features like high ceilings, hardwood floors, hand carved woodwork and tiled fireplaces. Guests marvel at the detail of the common areas and enjoy relaxing on the porch or in the garden patio. Rates include continental breakfast, free wifi, off street parking and snacks with bottled water 24/7. The Innkeepers are highly skilled in helping guests plan a fun filled visit and they have the inside track on the best things to do and the most popular restaurant experiences. With the streetcar only steps in front of the mansion, getting around the city is simple and cost effective. Guests can visit the French Quarter, the Magazine Street Shopping District, the Superdome, the Convention Center, the World War II museum, the Zoo and Aquarium all within walking or riding distance. Its the perfect location for having a blast with family and friends all day, then coming home at night to restful peace and quiet. So plan a stay at the Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast. Don't just visit New Orleans, live it!
