Tangipahoa Parish Convention and Visitors

Tangipahoa Parish
Best known for its rich agricultural history and as a major distribution hub, over the years Tangipahoa Parish has emerged as a center of commerce and an area "to be watched".  Time and time again, conventions are larger, reunions are better attended, and sporting events draw record crowds.  Tangipahoa Parish is no longer Louisiana's best kept secret.  The whole world is quickly learning why it's such a wonderful place.

In Louisiana, we are known as being a "melting pot" of sorts.  We are the "gumbo" of the United States of America.  Featuring such ancestry as: Native American, French, Creole, Italian, African American, Irish, English, Scottish, German, and Spanish; Louisianians embrace our heritage and the cultures which have developed over time.  We are loyal to the traditions that make

our Louisiana the exception to the south and the cultural heartland of America.

The citizens of Tangipahoa Parish do a fantastic job of showcasing our culture at its best.  Throughout the year, we celebrate our lineage and the history which makes our region of the state unique.  Our cultural activities include showcasing our role in the Civil War, tracing our roots back to Africa or Europe, celebrating the hard work our forefathers, rejoicing success of our agricultural endeavors, and so much more.

Listed below is a sampling of the cultural based activities which take place annually in Tangipahoa Parish.
