In 2014 American cruise lines contracted to make Vidalia one of their stops for two of their Mississippi river cruise riverboats. In 2015 they have 84 dockings scheduled.
Concordia recreation district 3 shows 55,241 people visiting the complex from January to July 2015. They have scheduled ballgames, tournaments, football camps, and college ball scrimmages thru November.
The Vidalia conference and convention center is host to conventions, weddings, private and corporate parties, luncheons , dinners, school events, proms, and various other events. With an attendance of approximately 12,000 so far through July 2015. VCCC has events scheduled into 2016/2017 and is continually booking more.
Add another 8200 for the riverfront/ amphitheater activities and we have approximately 20,000 visitors in a six/seven month period.

2016 will be bringing an active working port, 1 gb broadband to residents and 10 gb to retailers and businesses. New homes and new businesses are springing up, industries are inquiring, we are a small town where big things happen.
