Whitney Plantation’s virtual event featuring My Father’s Name invites you to reflect on the legacies of slavery through the story of one woman’s journey to uncover the truth about her father’s participation in a lynching, find a way to hold her family accountable, and face the dawning awareness of her own unconscious racism. This event will be held on Wednesday, April 9, at 3 p.m. CT. This 20-minute documentary will be screened during the webinar, followed a guided discussion featuring Dr. Ashley Rogers, executive director of Whitney Plantation, Benjamin Saulsberry, public engagement and museum education director of The Emmett Till Interpretive Center, and Connie Royster, executive producer of the film.
